Dinosaur Riding Prohibited at Fairhope Park?

Fairhope, Alabama

The sign says not to but kids will be kids and often think the dinosaurs are just another attraction at community park; the small one was severely damaged once and had to be taken away for repairs.

Kids will be kids - sure, but where are the parents?

put a fence around em' like in the Jurassic Park .

parents are the problem not the kids

You put dinosaurs in a park and then expect that kids won't climb on them. Naive, maybe? My arm would get awfully tired if I was waiving a cane all the time? We need a brigade of pearl clutchers to guard our playgrounds from evil kids and irresponsible parents.

You are right about irresponsible parents. I had a neighbor that told me to put a fence around my front yard because I ask her to do something about her kids . They peed in my bushes and called me names constantly. Broke my bushes and were just very disrespectful and VERY ILL MANNERED to say the least. They were out of control. You should not have to put up a fence . It is not anyone's responsibility to watch YOUR kids but your own and if they are doing bad things it just simply shows how they are being raised. You can always tell a lot about kids by how their parents act. This woman was ill mannered herself so that explained it. I think the parents should have to pay for repairs.

It goes to show you how they act at home. Parents let kids do whatever they want. You know their houses are probably trashed. EWWW.

Kids should not be at the park unsupervised. I think that is neglect if you are leaving kids there unattended. With that said , the signs clearly state to stay off of the structures . It is the parents fault for not making kids mind. If the parent is present more than likely they are on their phone or on facebook!!! hahahahaha PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE! Cameras need to be in place to make people that do the damage get fined or pay for structures to be repaired instead of tax payers

I think we should get a local artist to provide a beautiful blown glass fish or maybe a nice dolphin to display next to the rope climbing tower. That way we can all act outraged when it is broken...IN A PLAYGROUND!

spoken like a mother that does not watch her child in a PLAYGROUND. Rules are rules!!! A good teaching moment for ya! lol

I'm not a mother. If we're talking about "teaching moments", then maybe it's time to go back to school and learn basic grammar.

If they are so delicate then remove them and put them somewhere besides a playground. They aren't very impressive works of art in the first place.

Here's an excerpt from the official travel guide for the state regarding Fairhope's Community Park: "Enjoy playground equipment, restrooms, and picnic tables with lots of space to run. Kids will love the giant dinosaur." In other news: apparently the locals have decided to electrify the sauropods in order to teach the kids and their parents a lesson. 100's have already been hospitalized.

We understand the city is considering putting up larger 'stay off' signs as a remedy for this.

Ok first of all I did not know this was a grammar quiz. Typed too fast in response to the same person . ( on the playground) How is that Mrs. home school mom!!! You are just Guilty as charged!! Yes, kids will enjoy the dinosaur. It does not say anything about climbing on them. The zoo has a travel guide that reads , "Enjoy all of the animals." We don't climb on those now do we? If 100's have been hospitalized ( in which I don't believe) then maybe the parents need to watch their children better!! You are funny. My advice to you is to stay home away from all of the dangers that lurk around Fairhope . (teachable moment!!!!) You are one of those people that when your child does something wrong you find everything to blame but yourself!!!! BLESS YOUR HEART!!

I would not let my child climb on them . Sign or no sign, it does not look safe. Sometimes a parent just needs a little common sense :)

Bless my heart, I think the dinosaurs and some of the readers need a safe space and a squishy toy so their feeling don't get hurt.
