Fairhope, Alabama
ONE HOUSE SEVERELY DAMAGED
A storm front that went through the area last night at about 9 PM caused serious tree damage, especially along Mobile Street in the vicinity of the White Avenue pier where a big oak fell on a house -- and a boat house was severely damaged.
No injuries wee reported immediately.
A tree also fell across the sidewalk at the Magnolia Beach park and behind Greer's grocery downtown.
Emergency management officials speculated a "micro burst" may have been responsible for the damage.
City public works crews were cleaning up the damage -- but they were stretched-thin with the Arts and Crafts Festival opening, where some of the vendor's tents were damaged as well.
