Senior Councilman Has Health Problem

Fairhope, Alabama

Seven-term councilman Mike Ford suffered a "minor stroke" recently but was doing well in rehab, according to Council President Jack Burrell.

Ford missed the last council meeting two weeks ago and several committee assignments since; he is still having problems standing and walking, Burrell said.

Ford has not announced yet if he intends to seek re-election this August.

I'm sorry for Councilman Ford and wish him a speedy recovery, but as the other poster stated, he should consider retiring for his and the cities own good.

There ought to be term limits, three is enough for anyone, then they start to lose interest.

He should run for mayor.

I sincerely hope he makes a speedy recovery, but this is a trending problem in Fairhope. For many of the elderly residents of Fairhope it is time to retire and stop making policy with impaired judgement. It is time for the communist community of Fairhope to leave the feudal ages, respect property rights, and elect young leaders with democratic ideals.
