Big Fairhope Street Paving Project Begins

Fairhope, Alabama

Fairhope Avenue today

MUNICIPAL ELECTION YEAR TRADITION

Those delayed by construction traffic this afternoon can verify the project years-in-the-making to pave bumpy Fairhope Avenue from downtown all the way east out to Hwy 181 has finally begun; work will shift out to the east end shortly to avoid disrupting Mardis Gras events according to a public works department spokesman.

24 OTHER STREETS TOO

Also, bids are now being solicited to pave an additional as-yet-unidentified 24 streets around town for $1.7 million -- as the second stage of the project.

If the Times can obtain the list of streets to be paved we will post it here.

COUNTY BUILDING ROUNDABOUT

Baldwin county has begun construction of their roundabout at the CR13 intersection: hoped to be completed by July.
