Repairs To Fairhope City Hall Nearly Completed

Fairhope, Alabama

Repairs to the west wall of city hall have been completed and those at the utility payment drive through nearly so.

A severe wind/rain storm last winter caused the brick to buckle in places; it turned out they were part of the buildings structural support.

Water had penetrated the bricks over the years causing metal supporting straps to decay and fail.

Total cost was about $105K.

That's pretty quick. Would have been nice to see that kind of knee-jerk reaction to the failing library. Out of sight, out of mind huh?
