CONSTRUCTION AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

The flowerclock roundabout is progressing rapidly and may be able to open earlier than first predicted (weather permitting), according to multiple sources close to the project.

Asphalt Services is the general contractor.

Construction began last March; the contractor has up to 300 days for completion, per their contract.

Roundabout construction time is usually about 10 months, based on others built here in recent years.

Some necessary work was completed before actual construction started, such as utility relocation, speeding construction.

This doesn't surprise me. When I was up there a week ago, it looked pretty much complete except for the paving, signage, landscaping and other finishing touches.

Why can't they do them all that fast?

I think there was a lot of pressure to do this one quickly because the inconvenience it caused was greater than some of the other roundabouts. Also, the experience gained in creating the others probably helped with planning this one, and getting a lot of the prep work done before the intersection had to be closed was an important factor.
