Saying they were having a "terrible time", representatives for the proposed Volanta Dog Park (Volanta St. entrance) recently asked the City Council for a visible place in town to put up a donations "thermometer" sign to aid their fundraising: mostly needed to buy the necessary "cyclone" fencing materials. Also, "in kind" materials (fencing) may be donated. Anyone wishing to donate may send checks made out to The City of Fairhope Dog Park and send them to the city's mailing address ( P.O. Box 429, Zip 36533).
In addition, it was revealed Fairhope has been nominated for the coveted "Dog Town USA" award.
Ominously, Council President Quinn warned, "Willie (Bean) will be at the next (Council) meeting" (Public Particiation).
