In answer to a question by Councilman Kingrea, Mayor Kant said that a Baldwin Circuit Court Judge ruled in favor of constructing a deck at the end of Nichol's St. on Mobile Bay. Two neighbors had filed a lawsuit last year to stop the project.
City Attorney Wyne said they had filed an appeal, but there was no reason the city could not begin construction later this week. Materials are to be provided by the Single Tax Corporation; city public work's crews will be doing the actual construction.
