New Sidewalk Coming Soon for S. Greeno Rd.

Greeno Rd.
City Administrator Greg Mims announced recently construction is to begin soon on the long-awaited South Greeno Rd. trail completion, down to the high school; and the Volanta Ave. sidewalk, between Greeno and Section St. (to Volanta Park).

The Greeno project is mostly funded by a state grant; and the Volanta will be by the Single Tax Corporation, according to Mims.

Which side of Volanta it will be on is still to be determined.

Volanta definitely needs a sidewalk. I still wonder why they wasted money on that sidewalk (or trail) they put in along hwy 98 in Barnwell heading toward Magnolia Springs. I ride by there all the time...and I've yet to see a single person walking or biking on it. If cyclists are there, they're in the middle of the highway, as usual. Complete waste of money. It might be a government grant or whatever, but ALL gov money comes from taxpayers in the end.

this is a start but a sidewalk is needed on Morphy Ave east of Greeno Road, hope this area will be next
