NON PROFITS TO PAY 50% The city council passed a new resolution prohibiting any waiver of fees for the usage of city facilities (civic center, Nix Center, etc.) by private parties; but all non profits will have most fees automatically reduced by half.
Fairhope Public Schools will not be charged for their events.
NO MORE APPEALS TO MAYOR OR COUNCIL
Organizations may no longer appeal to the city council to have fees canceled or reduced.
Councilmembers have long complained how hard it is to choose one organization over another when they request fee waivers.
