LOWER LEVEL PROPOSED
Fairhope City Councilman Mike Ford proposed an ordinance to reduce the maximum permitted daytime sound level from 85 to 65 decibels. Nighttime limit to remain at 50 db.
BUSINESS OWNERS OBJECT
The owners of downtown's Windmill Market (Mac Walcot) and the HWY 27 Grill (on HWY 181) objected to the change; Walcot suggested the "one size fits all" approach wasn't working: the limit may need to be different in the various parts of town.
DELAYED UNTIL NEXT MEETING
The council decided to delay consideration of the proposal until its next meeting.
