POLICE ADVISORY MEETING
Officer Damien Rehorn was named police officer of the month for July 2012 by his supervisors in the Police Department. Chief Press said Rehorn stopped a suspect on Greeno Rd. and was able to obtain information leading to the arrest of others involved in a rash of vehicle burglaries in the Rock Creek and other subdivisions. None of the vehicles were locked, according to Press.
Press: "You ... began an investigation ... that led to who the subjects were ... what they had stolen ... and when they would be returning to the area ... ."
Press said that later that morning, Rehorn located the subject's vehicle, obtained confessions, and recovered the stolen property.
Rehorn credited his partner, officer Trent Scott: "Its always nice to be recognized ... a team effort ... nice to know I came to this community ... and made some kind of impact ... ."
Rehorn was an MP in the Army before coming to the Fairhope PD eight months ago.
