Fairhope, Alabama
QUINN ABSTAINS
The city council passed a resolution supporting the proposed renewal of the one cent sales tax for Baldwin County Schools. The mayor had expressed his support at the previous council meeting. The referendum, Baldwin County Amendment 2, will be on the Nov. 6th general election ballot.
Councilman Stankoski said he supported the resolution but thought the county should be seeking a more permanent source of income -- other than an unstable sales tax.
Councilmember Quinn said she thought it was the responsibility of the next city council to decide.
Quinn: "I don't feel I should put my thoughts off ... on the next city council."
The resolution passed 4-1 with Quinn abstaining.
