TO CONTINUE WORK
The city council voted unanimously to allow the Educational Advisory Committee to continue its work via a charrette process: "Intensive planning sessions where citizens, designers and others collaborate on a vision for development."
The Committee was formed last year to look at ways the city could aid local school (classrooms) financially: $350,000 was appropriated this year.
"Now therefore be it resolved by the governing body of the city of Fairhope that the Charrette Process will be the Fairhope Community's Vision for Education, Training and Learning services: and the Committee will identify all key citizens, leaders, organizations, and investors to engage in producing a Blueprint for the K through 16+ educational experiences and opportunities for citizens in the Fairhope community; and that the endeavor will be in partnership with the Baldwin County Board of Education."
The civic center has been suggested as a place to hold such meetings.

The money has been allocated by the city. There is absolutely no need for all of this hand wringing and ego stroking. This should be a fairly straight forward process.
