The city council unanimously voted to proceed with plans for constructing a floral clock -- to be installed on the grassy knoll at the intersection of Section St. and HWY 104.
A joint project with the Committee on Public Art, the design has yet to be determined; but one possible suggestion is like the Fairhope clock at the intersection of Section St. and Fairhope Ave.
The COPA has agreed to provide the mechanical components for the clock (motor and hands) and the city will build and maintain it thereafter.
City Horticulturist Jennifer Fidler will be working with the group.
