Every since the powers- to -be - paved the boat launch parking lot, we have had this problem . The storm surge during Hurricane Katrina crossed Scenic 98 for the first time, and water rose up PierAv. Houses to the north also flooded due to the paving. If the parking lot was gravel or a permeable material, water would be more likely to be absorbed.

This problem started when the new boat ramp was installed there after Katrina.
