Such a shame to shame to take down the historic homes .

Old is not a synonym of Historic.

From the photo it looked maintained and cared for. I know it's too late, but just wondering why the owner had it razed, and if the historical board had any say-so on it. Does anyone know? Publisher?

The city has a preservation advisory committee that meets monthly but no preservation ordinance has ever been enacted so there is no board to oversee development.

I agree that it appeared somewhat maintained, but who would ever want to live in that place? The land is gorgeous and extremely well situated but who would even take it for free if they couldn't build their own home?

Maybe a Complaint Center, but I doubt that it'll be big enough.
