I hate that there was no advance notice of this. Veterans Day is 11/11 (or so I believed). No one I saw today had any clue that this was even on anyone's agenda. Who is running the show with event planning? Is Jessica Sawyer still there?
This parade was announced in the usual ways on traditional and social media. It is always held the weekend before actual Veterans Day. You may want to note, there will be another ceremony Thursday on the bluff at 6 PM on actual Veterans Day.
The parade's always been the Saturday before but there is also a "sunset prayer ceremony" Nov. 11th on the bluff overlooking the pier beginning at 4:45 PM that we highly recommend.

We attended the ceremony last night and it was very nice. Solemn and reverent.
The attendance was very sparse at this one. Hoping y'all are finding some way to honor our veterans, and not just another day off. Would have been nice to have more folks there last night......

Wonder if he was drafted. They need to bring back the military draft.

If you were to say to attract more folks, the pictures mske it appear like it was sparsely attended. True?
