BRICK PAVERS AND WALL FACADE
Construction has begun to replace the deteriorated asphalt walkways and the facade on the visitors' side of the city's municipal stadium at Volanta Park.
About 4K square feet of pavers are to be used for walkways. Simultaneous drainage improvements are to be made as well.
Cost is $34.6K; the contractor M H McLaughlin, LLC promises the project will be completed in time for season opener football games on August 18 (St. Michael) and 19th (Fairhope High), according to recreation director Pat White.
White: "We're under a time crunch ... talked to both contractors ... say they can get it done .. as long as move forward quickly."
