 VOLANTA PARK

After filters for the indoor pool were changed the city's municipal pool officially re-opened today after a five month upgrade; the outdoor pool reopened about two weeks ago.

The project had to be extended as more problems were found including roof problems and faulty "sand filters" for the pool water.

City's announcement: "The Fairhope Municipal Pool is set to reopen after several upgrades to the facility! We are excited for our citizens to see the hard work our crews have put in to accomplish the renovation.

Thank you everyone for your patience on this project! Check out the details below!
Reopening: Wednesday, September 16 Hours: 5 AM - 7 PM"

From a March 2026 FT report:

"Contractor Bienville Construction has begun a $1.2 upgrade to the municipal pool building in Volanta Park to address the building’s chronic corrosion problem — as well as other issues.

Corrosion inside the mostly-metal structure caused by high ambient chlorine content will be reduced by installing a better ventilation system.

An isolated mezzanine level for new equipment will be added as well."
