Renewed Effort Underway to Pay off Library Debt

Councilmember Dan Stakoski announced recently a new organization, the Fairhope Public Library Foundation, has been organized by the Library Board to pay off the outstanding $1 million "bridge loan" it owes to the city.
Stankoski said there are 14, 951 library cardholders in the 36532 zip code (25,500 total); and that 18,131 patrons used the library in June alone (601 daily).

why don't they raise fines for late books? i wish people would turn there phones offf in there too

I think it's a wonderful facility, with a great staff, and a diverse collection--all a testement to the readers in Fairhope. If you are just using it to cool off, you are missing out

The library represents all that is good about our city. We all benefit from this facility that has become the "hub" of our community.
