Forum Held on Navy Air Field Expansion Plans

A forum was held recently concerning the planned expansion of Navy training air fields in south Baldwin County--to acommodate newer, more powerful aircraft.  Residents have until the end of the month to submit comments.

Concerns over noise pollution from the engines and frequency of crashes of the training planes have periodically been issues along the Eastern Shore and elsewhere in the county.

According to Cmdr. Lewis, although twice as powerful, the new planes will generate "about the same" amount of noise as the current ones.

Does anyone seriously believe the new twice as powerful planes won't be a LOT louder than the old ones?

That Commander's telling us a "sea story."
