New Downtown Restaurant Almost Completed

Fairhope, Alabama

'Theater' Building

'ANOTHER BROKEN EGG CAFE' CHAIN

Finishing touches are being put on the city's newest restaurant in the almost-completed 'Theater Building' at the corner of Church and Fairhope Avenue -- named for the historic Magnet Theater which once stood there.

Press releases say the rapidly-expanding cafe chain plans to have 100 stores across the southeast by 2018, both corporate and franchise.

CEO Ron Green: "As we prepare for our next stage of growth, it is essential to have all systems in order and the right people in the right places to take it to the next level."

Sources say opening will be before the annual March Arts and Crafts Festival and hours are typically from 7AM until 2PM with a menu concentrating on breakfast/brunch.

In the past some locally-owned businesses have been wary of more corporate chain stores locating in the city, because of perceived unfair competitive advantages of large corporations vs. mom and pop stores.

Scarce downtown parking has always been an issue as well.

(We have not yet been able to determine if this will be a franchise or corporate store)
