At the last City Council meeting, Police Chief Sanders requested (and received) permission to re-assign some office personnel to help cover traffic patrols (particularly during "peak" periods)-- due to what he called his "tight budget."
Sanders had previously called Fairhope's 98 square mile police jurisdiction "unusually large"-- for a City this size.
