Mayor Changes Mind About City Administrator Job
After expressing no opposition to posting an "in-house" announcement for the vacant City Administrator position (May 26th Councilmeeting)-- the Mayor now says he doesn't need the help and won't advertise for the position per City Council directions. At the May meeting when asked by Councilman Ford, "What you gonna do Tim" (after the Administrator is hired)-- Kant replied, "I'm going to run the City, Mike;" but by the Jun 8th meeting, he had reconsidered: "I'm in charge of Staff and there will be no announcement . . . I don't need the help." See the following other online news accounts as well. Paragraph 20 of this article for more details of the May 26th meeting. Paragraph 2 of this article for another description of the Mayor's new position. Both articles are the work of a fine Newspaper and Reporter.
