Calling it an "immediate concern"-- last night Police Chief Bill Press asked the City Council and Mayor to bring former Interim Chief Terry Sanders back as Assistant Chief of Police. Press praised Sanders' "honesty and integrity" and said the "strength of (our) combined efforts will lead the Dept. higher." "I know some people may question my recommendation,'" Press went on, "( but) it will be my reputation that's on the line here."
Sanders was appointed by a 4-1 vote to fill a vacant Captain's (rank) slot (Ford dissenting).
