A local citizen's group (concerned about the quality of food generally available--especially for children) has approached the City Council about holding a weekend farmer's market on this city property behind the library. They say they have contacted several farmers in the area who have expressed interest.
City events coordinator Sherry Sullivan however, reported there are already numerous Saturday markets in the Mobile/Baldwin area-- and believed there would not be sufficient farmer participation to hold another one on Saturday; but she would look into the matter further on behalf of the group.
"That's why we hold ours on Thursdays," observed Sullivan.
