Single Tax Colonists Donate More to Museum

The Fairhope Museum of History will be getting an additional $2,000/mo from Colony residents-- to go exclusively to archiving/exhibits (at the discretion of Museum Director Donnie Barrett). The money comes from the land "rent" colony residents (about 1/3 of the town population) pay to the private Single Tax Corporation--on top of their regular property taxes. After some discussion about Barrett's role, the City Council approved the arrangement at its last meeting.
