After hearing a report from a committee that met with downtown merchants last week, the Mayor/City Council voted unanimously to remove the 2 hr parking-limit signs from downtown streets. The majority opinion (70%) of merchants at the meeting was that the signs should be removed-- and merchants should "self-police" the 6 or so of them who insist on parking on the streets in front of their businesses all day long.
Mayor Kant: "We'll start taking them down in the morning."
