Another old cottage was demolished recently in the "bluff" neighborhood (Summit St.): to be replaced by a multi-story "McMansion" according to a neighbor.
An effort was made in about 2001 to find a way to protect vintage homes in the city's older neighborhoods; but it was ultimately defeated by property-rights advocates.
