New Downtown Subdivision Requested

Approval will be sought (Monday's Planning Commission meeting) for a new 5 lot subdivision ("Park Place"), generally on the west side of Section St-- across (SW) from Greers grocery. If the old home there now cannot be moved, it will probably be demolish (according to informed sources). According to land records, the property is owned by local architect M. Walcot, et al.

The real fault for the fall of Fairhope has to lie at the feet of its apathetic citizens. We whine, complain and claim to know everything about city government,--show up to ask for something for ourselves or our own neighborhoods; then leave Council/other meetings--as if nothing else matters. Only Realtors, Developers, other business types and their friends usually remain to participate.
