Transit Station Plans to be Reviewed

At this Monday's Planning Commission meeting (Nov. 2), the site plan for the County's proposed BRATS Transit Hub will be reviewed(on Fairhope Ave, across from Brunos, behind the Big Lots Store). The County is proposing to lease the property(20 year) for $24,000/yr -- the City of Fairhope has already agreed to reimburse them. Since the county is leasing the property, it is unlikely city tree protection ordinances will apply: there are numerous mature pecan and live oaks on the property.

$24K a year with up to a 15% increase per year. So, again we have money to throw away. Why in the heck was Delchamps family property selected on one of the most heavily congested traffic areas in Fairhope? Forget the trees, all are history, Tim's rationale is he'll just plant more...whatta guy...whatya council....

tree ordinances never apply, anyway, depending upon who you are and how connected. this is one of the most heavily congested and dangerous areas in fairhope. who came up with this brilliant location other than the property belongs to someone well connected.
