According to Treasurer Nancy Wilson, the first 3 months' revenue (July, August. September) from the newly enacted 2 cent sales tax (last Spring) was $1,003,864; and (after collection-related state deductions) the net amount received by the city came to $990,086, with half ($450,000) being put in the city's (emergency) sales tax reserve account (by law). The other $450,000 went into the general fund.
Wilson: "Thats an average of $334,621 per month; and our budget projected . . . (only) $316,000 a month . . . so we're ahead of that."
