Montrose Business Facing Fines for "Significant" Tree Pruning

A business on N. U.S. 98 is facing fines for "significant" pruning of "Corridor 98" live oak trees. A permit is required from both ALDOT and the City prior to any pruning in state roads' right-of-ways--within the city limits. Two other possible violations were reported by Horticulturist Fidler: 1) Neals Tree Service removed a tree on city property without the proper permit (claimed it was dead). 2) Pruning of N. HWY 98 trees/other plants (near Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church) without a city permit (although they had permission from ALDOT).
