NAS Whiting Field is considering expanding it's Siverhill training facility (among others) to accommodate new planes (longer runways). In the past, residents of nearby neighborhoods have complained about noise pollution associated with the training.
An environmental study must be completed before the expansion can begin. (Since the new plane's engine is more powerful, they are expected to be considerably louder.)
