The Financial Committee expressed disappointment with the revenue proposals ("enhancements"/cost cutting) the City's Department Heads submitted recently.
Chairman Zunk: "I was really disappointed. Only one Dept. Head (reportedly Chief Press: Public Safety) did what we had asked . . . either we're not making enough money or spending too much . . . our goal is to make things better . . . can't continue to drift . . . only thing left . . . if people can't come forward with plans of their own . . . is for the Council to do it on its own imagination . . . could be ugly. I'm very very disappointed."
Member Grubin: " . . . (we need) a plan to take us out of the wilderness . . . (to) at least a break even point."
Member Mixon: "Its not so much this year . . . but next year and following years . . . got to start cutting now . . . golf course costs us too much money . . . (we) need to look at every facility in the city as well . . . streamline (operations)."
Golf Director Hall: "My hands are kinda tied. . . . been told (by Mayor Kant) not to worry about certain fees (potential increases) . . . said its gonna be offset by other funds . . . "
Member Mixon: ". . . let the Dept. Heads make their own recommendations."

gullible citizens who never attend these meetings seem to fall for his baloney though.
