Budget Committee Cautioned of Possible Economic Downturn

At the beginning of Thursday's Budget Committee meeting, Council President Lonnie Mixon said the National League of Cities is reporting 7 of 10 cities around the country are having to lay off personnel and/or reduce services.
Mixon: ". . . we've got to pare down . . . not let ourselves get in . . . situation some other cities are in."

If people who claim to be Conservative Republicans would stop asking for more and more from government just like the liberals we wouldn't have all these problems at all.

the council needs to start saying no. meet the immediate needs and start tightning the belt. fix the utilities before more prblems arise
