City's Contributions to Charity Examined

At a recent budget meeting, Sherry Sullivan discussed next year's proposed contributions to charity by the city (aka Community Development funding). All such requests for next year (FY beginning Oct. 1st) were required to be in by last Jun. 1st. Most of the money usually comes from the electric fund.

the electric department should not be required to handle the charity contributions. we need new electric poles and some new transformers. they are long over-due

there's an endless stream of folks who claim to be conservative republicans coming with their hats in hands wanting gov. handouts. we shouldn't give any.
