Council Member Calls For "Kinder/Gentler" Government

In the spirit of the Holiday Season; and after 2 years of political turmoil caused by required changes in style of government, economic recession, and personnel changes--Debbie Quinn hoped for more harmony at City Hall.

Quinn: " . . . first year (of this Council) was tough . . . trying to get our act together . . . making (our) government constitutional. Second year we struggled with finances and budget(s) . . . "

"I hope we all remember . . . the city is a good place . . . lots to be thankful for . . . hope the Council and Mayor can learn to be a kinder/gentler group . . . work together for the good of everybody."

Several city employees have privately expressed similar sentiments.

Absolutely agree with Mrs Quinn, hopefully there will be a lot more cooperation and mannerly debate.

They also need to listen to all of the residents on issues, not just a vocal minority or thier own small group of friends (i.e. school system issue)
