More Sidewalk Projects Proposed in Fairhope

The Single Tax Corporation is considering helping to finance other sidewalk projects on Bayview and Summit Streets (Volanta Ave. too--possibly). A state grant is being sought for the Volanta project as well, according to prior reports.

(Publisher's Note: The STC has also proposed a sidewalk for E. Morphy)

Some neighborhood meetings are being planned--and all of this is still in the "idea stage" according to Public Works Director Fidler.

I guess it is a select group of elitist that want this done. They have already ruined this neighborhood by coming in and tearing down all of the cottages and building their McMansions. If the people walking in this area would walk on the side of the streets instead of the middle of road it wouldn't be so bad. There are currently sidewalks on Oak Street leading into Summit, but they still walk in the street.
