Lonnie Mixon Reelected Council President

MIXON
QUINN NOMINATED FORD

By a 4-1 vote, Lonnie Mixon was re-elected to serve another year as Fairhope City Council President. Debbie Quinn's prior nomination of Mike Ford was defeated, 3-2.

Quinn: "During my year as Council President . . .  we established procedures . . . bringing city government into compliance with the state constitution. The following year Lonnie oversaw overhaul of the city's financial controls and processes.  Now, starting the third year of this Council . . . its time to build relationships and sense of community . . . its appropriate Ford lead us in this effort."

Councilman Kingrea nominated Mixon.

Dan Stankoski was unanimously elected as President pro tempore.

Mixon declined comment "at this time" on his goals for the coming year.
