Proposed Road May Threaten 3 Old Oak Trees

County highway engineer Cal Market says these old live oak trees may have to be removed to complete the connection of  Bishop to Boothe Rd. in east Fairhope (just south of Morphy). The area is outside of Fairhope's city limits. Councilwoman Quinn called it a "sensitive" issue at a recent council meeting.

Also, numerous trees were removed by the county to make way for new parking lots at the nearby satellite courthouse, and some citizens worry the root system of one spared is being damaged by the construction activity currently underway there.
