Fairhope Councilman Wants to Ban Texting While Driving

Fairhope Councilmember Stankoski has proposed a ban on texting while driving in the city limits. Stankoski said at least two Fairhope residents had already been killed due to the practice and he recently encountered a dangerously-texting driver on the Bayway.

 Stankoski: "I felt very uncomfortable . . .  he wasn't paying attention."

Spanish Fort is also considering banning the practice.

Absolutely needs to be done, would be especially good if they ban talking on the cell phone while driving without a handsfree device as well.

Fairhope used to be a leader in innovations but in the past several years we've fallen behind neighbor cities.
