Financial Committee Members Commended

CREDITED WITH IMPROVING CITY FINANCES

The Mayor and City Council commended members of the Financial Advisory Committee recently for their part in the city's steadily improving finances over the past 2 years. Members of the Committee are  volunteers: they receive no compensation. Charles Zunk is the Chairman.

In response to what were then seen as grim financial prospects for the city, the Committee, comprised of ex-ceos, financial advisors, CPA's, etc.,  was formed by the Council in early 2009. They have come under fire at times from politicians and others for having too much influence on government policy: not being "elected officials."
