CITY CLERK'S OFFICE DOING DOUBLE DUTY
The position of Human Resources Director will remain unfilled for the time being, according to various sources at City Hall.
City Administrator Greg Mims says he is pleased with how the clerk's office has handled the work so far -- as is Council President Mixon who added another assistant may eventually be needed there. Councilman Stankoski said unless a problem develops, the clerk should contunue to perform the function for now. Councilman Kingrea concurred unless there is a "change in circumstances."
City Clerk Lisa Hanks said she felt comfortable with the added responsibilities (she has a degree in Human Resource Administration- click), but may need a second assistant. Hanks added Treasurer Nancy Wilson is currently handling payroll and some insurance matters.
Mayor Kant said he is still evaluating the situation in light of "what's best for the city."
