Quinn Comments on K-1 School Closing

CRITICIZES BALDWIN BOARD OF EDUCATION

Fairhope Councilwoman Debbie Quinn lamented that the School  Board took only "3 short weeks" to decide the K-1's fate; and it was clear by their actions that "Bay Minette intends to dictate what happens to our children here."

SAYS RE-EXAMINE POSSIBILITY OF CITY SYSTEM

Quinn echoed some of Mayor Kant's recent remarks that another look should  be taken at forming a municipal school system "to harness our children's future, for the future of Fairhope."

Why go away when maybe $100,000 could be spent on a "feasability" study...again. Do it or don't do it. If taxes would increase...don't do it. It's that simple.

The best school systems in the state are city systems, not county systems. Of course, if it costs thirty cents more than what we already have, it's out of the question.
