Veteran's Committee member Joe Birindelli said he hopes the new statue, by Fairhope artist Stephen Spears, will be ready for unveiling on Fairhope's bluff on Veterans Day.
Birindelli: "It might be possible . . . our goal."
The sculpture is inspired by Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The City council recently provided funds to complete the long-planned memorial.
