"Complete Streets" Sought for New Paving Projects

MORE ROADS CONSIDERED
future projects

The city council decided to delay approving a list of roads to be paved after the Mayor mentioned he had received more last-minute requests from citizens.

The new roads being considered for paving are: parts of Deferet Ct., Morphy Ave. Extension, Wesley St., Bay Breeze Ave, and Druid Hills Dr.  (brought up by Councilman Kingrea).

SOME MAY BE COMPLETE STREETS

Councilmember Quinn and Smart Coast's Charlene Lee requested some of the projects be designed to be complete streets, in accordance with the city's recently adopted policy to encourage biking/walking.

Politicians often adopt policies such as this for the show but with no intentions of actually carrying them out.
