New Human Resources Director Named

Pandora Heathcoe
PANDORA HEATHCOE

Mayor Kant said Padora Heathcoe will be the city's HR Director, replacing City Clerk Lisa Hanks who has been doing double duty for about a year. Heathcoe has been the Mayor's assistant/secretary for the past 2 years.

According to the website Linkedin, Heathcoe recently earned a BS degree in Human Resources/Business.

City Council President Mixon said he was "very pleased" with the appointment: "Having seen Pandora’s work ethic and personal skills, and ability to get along with other employees, I think she will be a great asset to the HR department."

Councilmember Kingrea concurred: "I believe Pandora will do a good job as HR Director. Since coming to work for the Mayor, she has continued her education, I have found Pandora to be very accessible and always willing to help."

Councimember Quinn said she was also satisfied with the appointment.

(Publisher's Note: According to her facebook page, former HR Director Rhonda Bishop is now employed in the HR Department at Providence Hospital in Mobile.)

Does anyone truly believe that Police Department employees with legitimate complaints against the Mayor and/or the "Good Ole Boys" within the department are going to feel safe from retaliation if they file a complaint with the new HR Director, Mayor Kant's former assistant/ secretary?

I am very disappointed that members of the City Council went along with this appointment. If they truly wanted an unbiased and fair process they should have interviewed and hired someone that is outside of Fairhope Politics. Someone who isn't going to be a "yes man" for the Mayor.

I feel very sorry for the Police Officers that are just trying to do their jobs, day in and day out, and are being constantly harassed. The ones that are on the Mayor's unofficial "hit list" of people to get rid of (fire) as soon as he gets the chance.

This is so obvious it's painful. I just don't get it, every time you think there might be hope that things are going to get better - investigation by Lorenzo Howard, a step in the right direction - then something like this happens and you take 3 steps backward.

Wake up and smell the roses people! The Mayor, Mike Ford, and all of the Mayor's minions are self-serving, vindictive, unfair, and biased and they are hurting this city.

Sadly, due to the recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling, the Council has NO say in who the Mayor hires!!

Just because she may be friends with an ex mayor doesn't mean she cant do the job though.

Last time I checked, she is no the former first lady of Fairhope's BFF. She attended high school with their daughter. If you live here all your life, you can't help but know people.

I find all these comments pretty comical. They are absolutely posted by people that don't even know her, her work experience and ethics, or her ability to do the job.

If she was hired simply by knowing people then why didn't she get the HR director job when it was open last year? Sounds to me like there is some jealousy going on. Congratulations Pandora your HARD WORK has finally paid off!
I am TRULY sorry that I did not find this blog earlier! I am appalled by the accusations made by a small group of people who have "leaped before they looked" and opened their mouth to speak on behalf of someone they so very obviously DO NOT know! Pandora Heathcoe is not only one of the only morally upstanding people left in Baldwin County, but has proven that by NOT showing favoritism in any capacity! She has worked extremely hard and brought forth a GREAT deal of self sacrifice to earn this position and furthermore is not only doing a fine job of it but proving so many of these comments wrong on a DAILY basis! I stand with the Mayors decision and that of the city council in supporting Pandora Heathcoe as the new HR Director for the City of Fairhope! I do not know anyone better deserving of this position and I say that as not only a almost lifelong resident of Fairhope, but as an individual having held a position in public office! CONGRATULATIONS Pandora! Keep up the great job . You make Fairhope PROUD!
