Chief Press said that patrol officer Eugene Maye received a tip that a 14 year old girl was being held in a trailer near Fairhope against her will; and officer Maye was instrumental in her rescue -- and the subsequent arrest of her abductor (Mr. Reed), who had brought her here from Mississippi.
Press described Maye as a "credit to our department and the entire law enforcement community."
Maye: "This is what I do ... took the oath ... glad it turned out all right for the girl ... ."
